Lavon Brague

Lavon K. Brague, 92, of La Crosse, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Hillview Healthcare Center.

She was born in La Crosse on May 17, 1926, to John and Lotus (Schubert) Deml. She married Ronald O. Brague on May 14, 1949 in La Crosse. Ron preceded her in death in 1985.

Lavon worked at Jan Walters Fabric Shop in La Crosse for many years and later worked as a cook at the Moose Lodge for several more years. She was a long-time member of the Women of the Moose. In her free time, Lavon enjoyed reading.

Lavon is survived by two sons, Donald O. (Genevieve) Brague and Ronald J. Brague; a former daughter-in-law, Antoinette Brague; five grandchildren, Joseph Brague, Elizabeth Brague, Jeanna (Anthony) Good, Janeen (James) Latham and Joanna (Kenneth) Luchterhand; great grandchildren, Shayna (Daniel) Hornbeck, Robert Dayton, Alhanna Good, Josephine Knutson, Jaclyn Dowdy and Kennan Luchterhand; and great, great grandchildren, Kaylan and Joslynn Hornbeck. She is further survived by a sister, Ramona (Anthony) Colera; brothers, Robert, Richard (Jan), Donald (Martie), Carl (Farrell), and Gordon (Bonnie) Deml; a sister-in-law, Jan Deml; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lavon was also preceded in death by brothers, John, Raymond, Norman and Earl Deml; and sisters-in-law, Doris, Carol, Arlene, and Chris Deml.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Thursday, September 13 ^th , at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse, where a short prayer service conduct by the Women of the Moose will be held at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the gathering at the Moose Lodge.
