Larry D. Seekamp

Larry Dean Seekamp, age 70 of La Crosse, WI passed away at home on October 19th, 2021, of cancer.

He was born on February 26th, 1951, to Orval and Loretta Seekamp of Holmen, WI. Larry was baptized and confirmed at Lewis Valley Lutheran Church of Holmen, and he graduated from Holmen High School in 1969. He was married to Mary Esser and later divorced. He owned a painting business.

Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, spending time in the garden, or just taking a walk. He was an avid softball player and a real `Ringer` in horseshoes. He enjoyed card games with his family and had a great sense of humor always ready with a joke or two. He was a fan of his Wisconsin sports teams, pro boxing, and wrestling. Larry participated in numerous `Toughman Contests`. Larry had a passion of singing and playing his trumpet. His proudest moments with his trumpet were being asked to play at Shriner`s Childrens Hospital with his brother for their Christmas parties. Most importantly he always loved being with his family.

He is survived by his children Jack Seekamp (Holmen), Stacy Seekamp (Melrose), and a step-daughter Michelle Devenport (Holmen). Grandchildren: Payton, Tyler, Aria, Layla, and Charlie, God-son Aric Amann. His brothers Richard (Marianne) of Minneapolis and Dennis of La Crosse. His sisters Eloise Thum of Holmen, Katherine Bunch of Ohio, Linda (Jeff) Vian of Sparta, and Judi (Donn) Konze of Holmen. Along with many nieces and nephews and special friend Gerri Shell.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie, his parents, sister Marian Simonson, nephews Paul Seekamp and Brian Bunch, nieces Angel Amann, Lisa Zipelman, and Katrina Goss.

Visitation for family and friends will be at 10:00 am on Oct 30th before services at 11:00 am at Lewis Valley Lutheran Church Hwy V Holmen. Pastor Alyssa Mitchell will officiate.
