Larry S. Michalke

Larry S. Michalke, 58 of La Crescent, MN died on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the La Crescent Health Services. He was born June 2, 1966, in La Crosse, WI to Bruce and Marcella (Randall) Michalke and graduated from La Crescent High School in 1987. 

Larry had lived for a time in Rochester before returning to La Crescent. He was proud to have worked for Woodland Industries in Caledonia, Hardees Restaurant in La Crescent and part time for nearly 30 years at Quillin’s Grocery Store in La Crescent. 

Larry enjoyed bowling, cheering on the Vikings and Twins, watching volleyball and waiving the American Flag with pride. He also enjoyed listening to Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley music and participating in Special Olympics.

Survivors include his sister and six brothers; Mary “Toots” (Butch) Dahl of Eyota, MN, Jack (Ann) Boma of La Crescent, Pete (Cheryl) Boma of Brownsville, MN, Tony (Janice) Michalke of Green Bay, WI, Dick (Sue) Michalke of La Crescent, Jim (Roxie) Michalke of La Crescent and Joe (Jane) Michalke of Hokah, MN; six aunts, Dorothy De Florian, Ione Ross, Mary (Fred) Fennell, Diane Randall, Darlene Randall and Katy Gaare; an uncle, Jeff (Mary) Randall and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce “Boots” and Marcella “Babe” (Randall) Michalke and many aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14th at the Church of the Crucifixion in La Crescent with Rev. John L. Evans II officiating. Burial will follow in Crucifixion Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
