Larry P. Gile

September 3, 1954 — December 27, 2020

Larry P. Gile, 66, of Dakota, MN passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 27, 2020, at his home.

He was born September 3, 1954, at St. Ann’s Hospital in La Crosse, WI to Rudy and Margaret (Trocinski) Gile. Larry graduated from La Crescent High School in 1972. He married Connie Beach on April 27, 1974, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dakota, MN.

Larry was employed by Trane Company in La Crosse, WI for 43 years as a machinist, retiring in October of 2017. He was a valued employee, who was proud to have received perfect attendance awards each year of his employment.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Machinist Union Lodge 21.

Larry’s greatest love was his family. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. His favorite pastime was spending time in his garage working alongside his son, Jamie, on vehicles, doing anything his grandkids asked him to do, helping family and friends on any and all projects, or just having a cold one with anyone that stopped by. The TV was always on in the garage, whether it was a Minnesota Twins game, Hogan’s Heroes, Perry Mason, or NCIS. He also looked forward to his phone calls with his sister Shirley, his phone buddy. Anyone who knew Larry will remember his great sense of humor, his quick wittedness, one-liners, and desire to make everyone smile.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Connie; son, Jamie (Tammy) Gile; daughters, Shannon (Steve) Pape and Casey (Jeremy) Jorgenson, all of Dakota; grandchildren, Taylor Gile, Karson, Kiahna, and Kamden Pape, Tori, Makenna and Mattison Jorgenson; sisters, Shirley Duerwachter, Eileen (Stanley) Beach; brothers, Norman (Joyce) and Glenn (Barb) Gile; sisters-in-law, Lilah Beach, Doris and Doreen Gile; brothers-in-law, Jerome Beach and Gary Trynowski; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Mary Beach; granddaughter, Faith Jorgenson; brothers, Marvin and Lavern Gile, brother-in-law, Jerold Duerwachter; sister-in-law, Phyllis Trynowski; and nephew, Monty Gellersen.
