Larry Ray Gerberding

Larry Ray Gerberding, age 71, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in San Jose, California, and resided in Fresno, California for many years.

Larry’s early years could best be described as wild and free-spirited. At the age of 19, he would join the Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam.

Later, Larry spent 25+ years working with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, encompassing many different roles. This is where he met his wife and raised their 3 kids while traveling around the country until moving to La Crosse, Wisconsin, to be near family.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Levairn Gerberding, and his son, Mark Christopher Gerberding. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa (Minegar), their children, Cody, Shayne, and Haley Gerberding, brothers Marvin, Roger, Dennis and Billy Gerberding and their respective families.

He was loved dearly by all of his in-laws and was a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Larry enjoyed traveling the countryside on his Harley and biking the trails with his wife. He spent his time cheering on the 49ers, watching NASCAR, and doing DIY projects around the house. His favorite pastime was barbecuing in the backyard, Corona in hand, with friends, family and his dog.

Listening to him tell stories from his life was an endless source of entertainment. He was a friend to anyone who met him. To know him was to love him.
