Kenneth D. Meyers

Kenneth D. Meyers, 88, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Hillview Health Care Center. He was born on February 24, 1930 in Green Bay, WI. Ken graduated from Logan High School in 1949. He married Dorothy Comstock, and they later divorced. He married Lucille Hutchinson Bjorkman on February 23, 1985 in La Crosse. He worked at Trane Company for over 30 years. He was a member of the local AARP, the Moose Lodge, the Trane Co. 25 Year club, and the Salvation Army. Ken enjoyed collecting old movies, country western music, traveling, golfing, bowling and bingo.

He is survived by a son Kenneth A. Meyers of La Crosse, two daughters, Janice (Curt) Blount of La Crosse and Linda McKinney of Winona, TX, a grandson Brian Stelter of Minneapolis, a stepdaughter Nancy (Mark) Mules; grandchildren Thaddeus (Lydia) Mules, Nick Mules, Brenda (Brian) Applequist, and Andrew Bjorkman and Amanda Bjorkman; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Lucille Applequist and James and Nino Mules, and daughter-in-law, Linda Bjorkman. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lucille Meyers; his parents, Herman and Inga Meyers; two sisters, Beth Christianson and Doris Larson; a son Mark Meyers and a stepson William Bjorkman.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel at 1407 La Crosse St. with Major Jeff Richardson officiating.

His great sense of humor was always on display, even in the most trying of times.   We will miss his ready smile and the twinkle in his eyes. The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to the staffs of Hillview Terrace and Hillview Nursing Care Center for their excellent care of Ken.
