A bright light was lifted to heaven on January 27, 2025, when Kathleen Ann (Weber) Spinner passed on from this life. She was born to Elmer & Caroline (Hammes) Weber in La Crosse, Wi on July 9, 1948, the first of eight children. When she was six, Elmer died, leaving Caroline with four children. Caroline later remarried Queto, Elmer's brother, and together added four more children.
Kathy and James Spinner were married on August 14, 1982. Kathy graduated from Aquinas High School in 1966, and then from Eau Claire School of Beauty. She later worked as a hairdresser at Jafek's Salon and Nancy's Looking Glass. She and her customers had a special bond that lasted for decades. During high school and later in life, Kathy was also employed as a cook and housekeeper for the priests who resided in Holy Cross Diocesan Center.
Kathy will always be remembered for her generosity and compassion, her laughter and sense of humor, and The Serenity Prayer which she often quoted. She enjoyed spending time with family, going for walks, Chinese on Saturdays with the “Peking Club,” and drives, or “a ride” as she called it.
Kathy made friends easily wherever she went and brought joy to all who knew her. She was a gift, a blessing, and a bright light in this world. Her Catholic faith was precious to her and a source of strength in difficult times. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her daily life; and we are all better for knowing her.
Kathy is survived by her husband Jim of 42 years, daughters Jodi Owens (Brent) and Kristie Antony, son Brad Spinner, and additionally her seven siblings; "The Weber Boys" brothers Michael (Peggy), Thomas (Pamela), William (Brenda), and Gregory (Cathi), and three sisters Susan Fox, Elizabeth Newman (Jerry) , and Jean Weber. Eight grandchildren Danielle Laylan (Nicholas), Derrick Johnson, Devin Antony, Shiloh and Tyson Owens, Nicholas and Allison Spinner, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends. Kathy is preceded in death by Elmer, Caroline, and Queto Weber, her niece Rossi Weber, and grandson Dentin Antony.
