Kathleen Francis (Grossbach) Mcconnell

Kathleen Francis (Grossbach) McConnell, age 91, of La Crosse went to the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

She was born on September 24, 1932 in La Crosse to Carl Grossbach and Ermal (Hayes) Stoll. She graduated from Central High School. Kathleen was a loving wife and caring mother to one daughter, and about 20 foster children who she took great care of. They stayed with us for one day to 3 years. After that, she took care of 4 hard of hearing children during the school year which became her extended family.

Kathleen was a member of the Holmen American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She was a member of the North Presbyterian Church of La Crosse. In 1967, she was a Deacon of the church.

She is survived by her brother Gerald Grossbach; daughter Anna Weber and her husband Randy of Tomah WI; foster sons Jeff and Randy Brooks; grandchildren Jonathan Jones and his wife Lisa of West Salem WI, Robin James of Genoa City WI; step-grandchildren Mike Reed and his wife Heidi of Decorah IA, Kayla Klingerman and Scott of Monona IA, Luke Weber and his wife Nannapas of Thailand; great-grandchildren Chase, Willis, and Aliana Jones; Claudia and Theodore Whitedog; Ethan and Jacob Vowell; Cadence Weber; Ava and Tristen Reed; and Pakhin Chitnurat (Link) Weber; great-great-grandchild William Whitedog; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Gerald R. McConnell; parents Carl Grossbach, Ermal and Melt Stoll; sister Elizabeth Von; and brother Jimmy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the North Presbyterian Church, 1327 N. Salem Road, La Crosse. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.
