Karen M. Justin

August 7, 1966 — February 22, 2024

Karen M. Justin, 57, of Onalaska, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse after a brief but sudden illness. She was born in Winona, MN on August 7, 1966 to Gerald and Donna (Czapiewski) Long. Karen grew up in La Crescent, MN. She married Thomas Justin in 1985 and moved to Onalaska in 1993 where they have lived ever since.

Karen is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Jamey (Emma) Justin and Zachary (Hannah Peterson) Justin; grandchildren, Henley and August Justin; and siblings, Lorna Thayer, Jared (Jane) Long of Batavia, NY, and Jessica Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Long and Donna Hagy.

Karen was a daycare provider, and she enjoyed the many years in that profession. Her biggest joy in life was being around her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed planting flowers, butterflies, and going on family camp outings. Karen will be greatly missed but we will all cherish the many memories we have with her.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse, WI 54601.
