Judith A. "Judy" Hare

Judith “Judy” Hare, age 81, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Gundersen Health System - La Crosse. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse Chapel, 200 West Ave. South, La Crosse, WI 54601. Judith Ann Hare (Russell) was born on May 11, 1939 in La Crosse. On September 10, 1960, Judy married Ron Hare at St. John’s Catholic Church in La Crosse and together they had four children. Judy loved being a mom, grandma, “Memaw”, great grandma, and great, great grandma. There was nothing more important to her than family. She was known for crocheting and knitting afghans and baptismal gowns. Judy loved to travel with Ron on motorcycles.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Barbara (Jim) Schmalz, Jeff Hare and former wife, Brenda Hare, Rich (Michelle) Hare, and Jeremy (Shanna) Hare; grandchildren, Dalton, Abigail, and Alison Hare, Nathan Hare, Richard Hare (Lexi Stout), Scott Schmalz (Eneida Ferreira), Heather (Jack) Patschull, and Elizabeth (Darren) Pahl; and great grandchildren, Lucas and Christopher Patschull, and Braxtyn Pahl; step-brothers, Robert and William Russell; brothers-in-law, Robert (Sue) Hare and Mike (Kathy) Hare; and sisters-in-law, Patsy Erickson and Sandy Russell.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald (Helen) Russell and Jeanette (Ken) Roman; and brother, Jerry Russell.
