Joyce E. Norman

Joyce E. Norman at the age of 94 of LaCrosse, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 27, 2024. Joyce's passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of those who were closest to her, but she will be remembered for her selfless nature and willingness to sacrifice anything for her family.

Joyce was born on February 15, 1930 in Lansing, Iowa. She was happily married to James B. Norman for 43 years until his death in 1989. Together they raised nine healthy vibrant children. Joyce worked for WPS in Madison, Wisconsin for many years before relocating to LaCrosse, Wisconsin where she volunteered at Gunderson Clinic for 25 years. She loved to play cards and bingo and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James B. Norman, son Bill Norman, daughter Brenda Norman (Peterson), daughter Vicki Norman (Wickett), son Steven Norman, grandson Tony Derra, grandson Brian Abbs and great grandson Alex Duresky.

Joyce is survived by sons Richard Norman (Dotty), James A. Norman (Wanda), daughters Barb Wermager, Michelle Norman, Patty Norman Henry (John); and grandchildren Rhonda Rhodes, Chris Norman (Melissa),  Billy Norman, Tony Peterson (Vicki), Crystal Miller (Shawn), Carmen Duresky, Matt Wickett (Nicole), Amy Wickett, Jessica Norman (Jake), Steven Wermager, Ashley Wermager (Britton), Kim Abbs (John), Heather Pingatore (Pete), Ryan Greenslet (Becky); and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Special thanks to all of the staff at Eagle Crest and the hospice staff who gave amazing tender loving care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona, WI.
