Joseph D. Larson

Joseph D. Larson, age 78, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born to Joseph and Armilla (Meyer) Larson in Prairie du Chien, WI on July 18, 1944. Joe graduated from Aquinas High School in 1962. He worked as a driver and photo finisher for Moen Photo and American Photo for 35 years before his retirement.

Joe loved being in the outdoors. He spent a lot of time traveling with friends throughout the United States and also fishing with his nephews. He had a passion for art and was very talented at painting and drawing.

Joe is survived by two sisters, Pat DuCharme of Prairie du Chien and Erma Dahlquist of La Crescent; niece, Paula (Dave) Swatek; and nephews, Douglas (Angela) DuCharme, Patrick (Carrie) Dahlquist, Dan (Alyson) Dahlquist, and Craig (Jenni) Dahlquist.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Cletus DuCharme and Gary Dahlquist.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St, La Crosse, WI 54603. Fr. Robert Letona will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass, at the church. Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in La Crosse.

Joe’s family would like to thank the staff in the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center ICU for the care they provided to Joe. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and can be made in Joe’s honor to the donor’s choice.
