John W. Knobloch, 70 of Trempealeau, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
He was born April 26, 1954, in Milwaukee, WI to William and Myrtle (Schmeckpepper) Knobloch. John grew up on a farm in Holmen and attended the Halfway Creek Schoolhouse. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1972 and served on the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam War as a flight deck aircraft refueler until his honorable discharge in 1975.
John returned to Holmen and attended technical school. He married Karen Wannemuehler in 1982, together they had three children, Sara, Katie and Amy. They later divorced. John had worked as an oil delivery truck driver while raising his three children. On August 25, 2007, he married Christine Marie Olson in Trempealeau. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley’s, spending time with family, hunting and gardening.
John is survived by his wife, Christine of Trempealeau; three daughters, Sara (Andy) Meyers of La Crosse, Katie (Brent) Peterson of Sparta and Amy (Radmir) Sharipov of La Crosse; three step-sons, Joshua LeBlanc of Waukesha, WI, Jerime LeBlanc serving in the United States Air Force in Idaho and Michael (Clarabelle) LeBlanc, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Gracie, Sophia, Taylor, Malia, Nadyah, Leyana, Ilyas, Amir, Zackary, Jacob, Sophia, Olivia and Collette; a great-grandson, Finley; a sister, Candace (Rick) Buhrow of Texas, a sister-in-law, Cherie Jones of Elkhorn, WI and a brother-in-law, Clifford (Roberta) Olson of Plymouth, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Patrick Knobloch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and can be made directly to Christine.
