John F. “Jack” Stellick, 83, of La Crosse, found eternal happiness on Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Jack is the beloved husband of Carol J. (nee Dwyer) Stellick, and brother of Marian (Steve) Pavela; dear father of Stephanie (Tarly) Dall, Cathy (Tom) Edwards, Laurie (John) Topetzes, and Gregg (Clara) Stellick; proud grandfather of Kellan (Brynn), Matt and Aricyn Dall, Ashley (Matt) Suddock, Austin Edwards, Sydney, Jack and John Stellick, and Jake Beauclaire; and loving great grandfather of Kaylynn and Lawson Suddock, and Langdyn Dall. Jack is further survived by other beloved relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and their spouses, Robert (Marge) and Charles (Jean).
Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, and a graduate of Aquinas High School and the University of Wisconsin, where he played for the Badger football team. Jack loved La Crosse and served the community as owner of Korner Knook Flowers and as a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman.
Jack loved his family and loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater who exemplified the best of what Wisconsin had to offer. He was a man who was always full of optimism, led by example, took care of others, and appreciated life to the fullest. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 17 th , at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman, 530 Main St., La Crosse. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse, where a vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the family Eulogy which begins at 10:15 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Office for Vocations for the Education of Seminarians c/o the Diocese of La Crosse, Aquinas Foundation, or the UW-Madison Foundation.
