John E. Hayek

John E. Hayek, 93, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Benedictine Manor. John was born May 31 ^st , 1929 in La Crosse to George and Freda (Hansen) Hayek.

He is survived by his sons David (Gail) and Stanley, both of La Crosse and Harold (Carol) of Roseville, CA and Lois’s son Mike Polodna of La Crosse and four grandchildren, Athena, Teri, Jacquelyn and Sarah and four great-grandchild, Jazmyn, Corrina, Cade and Heather.

John is proceeded in death by his parents, George and Freda (Hansen) Hayek and his sister Alice Josephine Hayek Lieder and his brother George Henry “Chut” Hayek Jr.

John was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. Following the war, he worked for The Trane Company retiring after 40 years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Rev. Martin Yeager will officiate.  Committal services with military honors will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.  A complete obituary and online guestbook is available at www.schumacher-Kish.com.
