John A. Dougherty, 73, of Onalaska, died at his home on Saturday, January 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
John was born April 14, 1944, in Springfield, Ill., to John A. and Edith Mae (Phillips) Dougherty. He married the love of his life and soul mate, Cynthia (Demorest) Dougherty, November 7, 1975. In addition to his wife Cindy, John is survived by his daughters; Jackie (Arron) Schwarz, Mary (Vernon) Washington, Edith (Jim) Snell, Lori Bostick, and Tamie Nickle; one son, Charlie Watson; grandchildren, Brandon, Scott, Donte, Deondre, Carly, John, Sarah, Laura, Audrey, Megan, Justin, Dawn, Billy and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Keel. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bill, Bob and Olan; sisters, Violet and Christina; along with his best friend, John Steers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25

, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Rev. Jennifer Mathees will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Mound Cemetery, Holmen. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
