Jodi Helen (Rippentrop) Witt, age 55, of Winona, passed away peacefully at home on August 25th, 2024. She was born in Rochester, MN, on September 15th, 1968, to Norman Rippentrop and Sandra Mair Rippentrop. Jodi grew up in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, and later moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where she graduated from Mayo High School in 1987. After high school, Jodi attended beauty school at Rochester Cosmetology Training Center to pursue her career in cosmetology.
In the past two and a half years, Jodi faced immense challenges with a strength that was nothing short of extraordinary. She approached her battle with remarkable grace, never allowing adversity to diminish her spirit. Even in the most challenging moments, Jodi remained a pillar of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. Her perseverance was a testament to her character, demonstrating the power of hope and determination. Jodi never giving up, even in the face of impossible odds, will be remembered by those fortunate enough to witness her courage.
Jodi was not just the heart of her immediate family but the glue that held a wide circle of loved ones together. She was a mother who gave endlessly, ensuring that her children, Allison and Aaron, and even their friends felt uniquely special and deeply cherished. Her love knew no bounds, and she could make everyone feel welcome. Jodi's home was more than just a place—a sanctuary of comfort, laughter, and love, where memories were made and bonds were strengthened. Her hospitality was legendary, and she took great joy in hosting gatherings with family and friends, filling every event with warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging.

Whether it was a quiet morning spent reading a good book, an afternoon outdoors, or an evening enjoying the company of loved ones, Jodi knew how to make every moment count. Jodi’s passion for life extended beyond her family. She was a dedicated hairstylist for 36 years, a profession she loved deeply. For Jodi, hairstyling was not just a job but a vocation that allowed her to connect with people on a personal level. She took great pride in her work, treating each client as more than just a customer—they were friends, confidants, and, in many cases, like extended family. Jodi’s chair was a place where people came to look their best and feel their best. Her clients and beloved co-workers at Salon Nouvo will remember her for her talent and the genuine care and friendship she offered to each of them. Jodi touched countless lives through her work, and her impact on her community will be felt for years.
Her marriage to Mark was a beautiful testament to the power of love, partnership, and mutual being. Together, they built a life of love, laughter, and shared experiences. Their bond was unbreakable even after 28 years of marriage. Mark and Jodi’s love for each other was evident to all who knew them. They were true partners in every sense of the word, supporting each other through thick and thin and creating a home filled with joy and warmth.
Jodi's absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of many. Her kindness and generosity were unmatched, and she had a unique ability to make everyone she met feel valued and loved. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will live on through her family and the many lives she touched. Jodi was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and wife who cherished every moment she spent with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Witt; her beloved children, Allison and Aaron Witt, who will forever carry her love and guidance in their hearts; her mother, Sandra Mair Rippentrop; her mother-in-law, Joyce Witt; her brother, Mike Rippentrop; her brothers-in-law, Tim (Tara) Witt, Doug (Brenda) Jansen, and Daniel (Cinda) Witt; her sisters-in-law, Sarah (David) Vanderzee and Christine (Larry) Stoltman; and many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Jodi. Her father, Norman Rippentrop, and her father-in-law, Daryl “Cottie” Witt, along with many other loved ones, preceded her in death.
The family will announce a celebration of Jodi’s life at a later date, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor her memory.
Jodi will be remembered for her remarkable qualities and the profound and lasting impact she had on everyone who knew her. Her spirit, love, and strength will continue to inspire all fortunate enough to be a part of her life. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that she made the world a better place for having been in it.
