Jo Ann "Ohno" Lynn Antony

Jo Ann Lynn Antony, 76, of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse

She was born in La Crosse on August 20, 1943, to Harold and Evelyn (Youncke) Fuenger, and grew up on the Northside of La Crosse. She attended St. James Grade School and Logan High School before graduating from Onalaska High School in 1961. On April 18, 1964, Jo Ann married William “Bill” Antony at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska.

Jo Ann was an avid knitter who loved spending her Mondays with her ladies at the Fitting Knit Shop. Most of all, Jo Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing gave her greater joy than her daughter and watching her grandchildren grow up.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Jennifer Ellzey (Jarrett) of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Harper, Esther and Astrid Ellzey; her sister, Karen De Rose (Russell) of Gainsville, Va.; brother-in-law, Douglas Antony (Pat) of Monticello, Minn., and sister-in-law, Patty Meyer (Dave) of Rockland, Wis.; and beloved nieces and nephews, Anne Marie De Rose (Mark), Jonathan De Rose (Christina), Matthew Antony (Janise), Todd Antony, Stacy Antony-Foerster, Brendan Antony (Emily), Ryan Antony (Angela), Scott Meyer, Jamie Lockington (Ryan), and Sean Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Lawrence and Frances Antony; brother-in-law, Larry Antony; nephew, Robert De Rose; and great niece, Evelin Meyer.

A private funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 20 th , by invitation only at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in La Crosse. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Due to the Corona virus restrictions, family and friends are encouraged to watch the livestream of the service at 11:00 a.m. at www.mmoclacrosse.org and use the YouTube link. A celebration of life will be coordinated at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to travel. Memorials in Jo Ann’s memory may be directed to the Building Fund at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in La Crosse or Catholic Charities.
