Jim Lonkoski

James R. Lonkoski, 83, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 28, 2020, with his wife and son by his side, due to complications of congestive heart failure.

Jim was born in La Crosse on February 17, 1937, to Ray and Lucy (Schnedecker) Lonkoski, and later attended Aquinas High School.  He also served in the Army National Guard for a number of years.

Jim owned and operated Modern Plumbing & Heating, Inc., for over 30 years.  Following retirement, he worked at La Crosse Mechanical, Inc., as an estimator.  He was a member of Local 434 Plumbers and Steamfitters.

In his earlier days, Jim enjoyed being out on the Mississippi River in his Bayliner.  In later years, he enjoyed being in his backyard pool and deep-sea fishing in Zihuantanejo, Mexico.

Jim is survived by his wife, Roxanne (Woods) Lonkoski; a son, Jeff (Helen) Lonkoski of Stoddard; and two grandchildren, Greg Lonkoski of La Crosse and Becca (Greg) Scholze of Onalaska.  Jim was preceded in death by is parents; a brother, Joe Lonkoski; and his first wife, Rochelle (Balfany).
