Jerome "Jerry" Dagendesh

Jerome “Jerry” Dagendesh, 79 of La Crosse passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Mayo Health System in La Crosse. He was born in La Crosse on February 5, 1940 and graduated from Central High School. Jerry furthered his education at WWTC studying small engine and outboard motor repair.

On October 3, 1964 he married Gloria Matiak in La Crosse and they shared 51 years of marriage until she preceded him in death on March 18, 2016. Jerry had worked as a conductor with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and retired in 2004 after 42 years of service. He was a real outdoorsman who enjoyed deer and duck hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time on the river.

Survivors include five children; Robert (Barb) Dagendesh of Tulsa, OK, Daniel Dagendesh of La Crosse, Tammy (Butch) Fellenz of Barre Mills, Sandra Oleniacz of La Crosse and John (Angie) Dagendesh of La Crosse; eight grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer, Chris, Chelsey L., Dan, Steve, Chelsey M. and Preston; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan, Michael, Chyrston, Elaina, Marissa, John, Zoey and Natalie. In addition to his wife Gloria, he was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Jerome and George; three sisters and a brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 19 ^th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 South 13 ^th Street, La Crosse with Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Monday at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass at the church.
