Jeffrey Shane Cooley

Jeffrey (Jeff) Cooley of La Crosse, WI, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on August 11, 1952, to Irvin and Mavis Cooley. Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife of nearly 49 years, Diane (Hass) Cooley; his daughter Jessie (Josh) Potaracke of Holmen, WI; his son Jon (Kristan) Cooley of Dacula, GA; his grandchildren Morgan Potaracke, Aaron Potaracke, Maddie Cooley; and his brother Steve (Joee) Cooley of Cable, WI.

Jeff graduated from Central High School in 1970, a standout athlete in baseball and football. Jeff worked as a lab technician at Trane Company for over 30 years. Anyone who knew Jeff knew that his favorite hobby was playing golf and that he was best known by his nickname, the Load.

We know that loads of people will remember Jeff for his sarcastic wit and for being a loyal brother and friend. He was humble and compassionate. Most of all, his family will remember his quiet strength and love. 

A celebration of life will be held at Dock 7 at the Boot Hill Pub Event Center, 1501 St. Andrew St, on Sunday, November 24th from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the charity of your choosing.
