Jeanne, E. Davison, 92 of Hokah, Minn., passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Hillview Healthcare Center in La Crosse. She was born in Galesville, Wis. on October 21, 1924 to Selmer “Arthur” and Marjorie (Wadleigh) Sylvester. She married Germain A. Davison on August 23, 1944 in Mount Horeb, Wis. She met Gerry when she was the editor of the student newspaper and he was a football player at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville. When he finished his naval service following World War II they moved to La Crosse buying a home across from Emerson School. Jeanne and her husband were lifelong partners working together in all of their endeavors including farming, Midway Ammonia and fertilizer, and their family Christmas Tree farm. In 1969 they moved to Hokah, Mn. And began their dairy farming career. They were lifelong conservationists and friends to everyone they knew. Gerry preceded her in death on May 18, 2014. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of La Crosse. Jeanne had also served on numerous boards including SELCO, the Federal Reserve in Minneapolis and other Cooperatives.
Jeanne is survived by her five sons and one daughter; Jim (Vicki) Davison of Marshalltown, IA., Bill (Dianne) Davison of Riva, MD., Paul (Shelby) Davison of La Crosse, Wis., Richard (Sheryl) Davison of La Crosse, Tim (Sandy) Davison of Hokah, Margi (Neal) Genrich of Tomah, Wis., twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is further survived by her Sylvester cousin’s families. In addition to her parents and her husband Gerry, she was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse. Rev. Dr. J. Taylor Haley will officiate. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Friends may call on the family Friday from 5 until 7pm at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel; 200 West Ave. So. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 10am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated in Jeanne’s memory.
