Janet Marie Roth-Morris

Janet “JR” Marie Roth-Morris (73), a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away peacefully after a short battle with lung cancer on December 23, 2023, in the city of Whitehall, Wisconsin. She was born on July 3rd, 1950, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to her late parents, Donald and Bernice (Zimmerman) Roth.

Janet faithfully served her community as a telephone operator at CenturyTel in La Crosse, where she was well known for her professionalism and kindness. After moving to Whitehall, she worked as a waitress for many years at the City Café. She enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and vacationing out west. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, who nick-named her “GJ”.

Janet's memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, David Lee Morris. She was also survived by her daughter, Megan (Sam) Link, her sisters, Pam (John) Cain and Rose (Terry) Bowersock, her brother, Steve (Leslie) Roth, and her grandchildren, Mason and Mia Link.

Funeral services are to be held at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home in La Crosse, WI on January 6th. Visiting hours will be held from 1p.m. to 3p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 3p.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
