Janet Marie Kube, age 88, passed away peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Friday October 29, 2021. She left behind a loving husband, Franklin, of 69 years.
Franklin and Janet had six children, Lynn (Scott), Ann (special friend Steve), Jean (Mike), Don (Mary), Chip (Rosie), and Jim (Coleen). They were also blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Matt, Emily, Aubrey, Nate, Mikey, Hannah, Samuel, Vince, Grace, Sophie, Andrew, Ben, and Elizabeth, along with five great-grandchildren: Julia, Hadley, Piper, Maizey, and Emerald.
Janet was born on September 30, 1933, to George and Sophie (Stellmach) Grossman. She was an only child. At a very young age Janet lost her mother and was raised in Arcadia, WI by her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth, and later by her uncle Andrew and aunt Francis. She was also supported by many loving cousins and extended family.
Having been raised by Polish relatives and attending Polish grade school, she was very proud of her Polish heritage and could be counted on to break into a polka at a moment’s notice.
Janet and Franklin started dating while she was working at the City Cafe in Arcadia and married on August 23, 1952. While residing in Arcadia, their three daughters were born. Shortly after, Franklin moved the family to La Crosse for a new job opportunity and there their three boys were born.
For the last forty years, the highlight of the year was when Franklin and Janet treated their family to an annual vacation in northern Wisconsin where the fishing was good but the shared love, kindness, and acceptance, was even better.
Janet’s love and devotion for her family was the greatest joy and purpose in her life. She extended that same love to everyone with a hug and kiss, and anyone who visited their home would see her waving in the front window when they left. Janet was a true mirror of Jesus and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sophie, her son-in-law Joe Stetter (Ann), grandson Nate Stetter, along with many extended family and friends.
