James P. Michuta

James Pius Michuta, 75, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at UW Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. He was born on November 16, 1948 in La Crosse to John and Veronica (Usoris) Michuta. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1966. He earned a degree in nursing from Winona State University, School of Nursing. He worked as a cardiology nurse in hospitals in Indiana and California before moving back to La Crosse in 2022. He enjoyed coin collecting and traveling.

He is survived by four brothers Joe Michuta of Phoenix, AZ, John Michuta of Phoenix, AZ, Mike Michuta of Santa Fe, NM, and Bill Michuta of Genoa, WI, three sisters Rosemary (John) Bonnar of Munster, IL, Pat Michuta of Minneapolis, MN and Jeanne Michuta of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., La Crosse. Rev. Robert Letona will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 prior to the mass.
