Jack L. Low, age 87, of Onalaska passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Gunderson Health System – La Crosse. A private family service will be held at Onalaska City Cemetery.
Jack Lyle Low was born on December 18, 1932 to Elmer C. and Henrietta (Phillips) Low in La Crosse, WI. He graduated from Central High School in 1950 and went on to attend the Minneapolis School of Business. On June 1, 1951, Jack married Toni Modahl and he was devoted to her throughout their 69 years of marriage. Jack was a longtime local businessman. He had a passion for golf and was a member for many years at the La Crosse Country Club and Cedar Creek Country Club. He also enjoyed playing cards with his golf buddies.
Jack is survived by his wife, Toni; children, Steve (Jody) Low and Susan (Jeff) Vorpahl; grandchildren, Michael Low, Matthew Low (Marguerite Hyde), Brian (Kaitlin) Vorpahl, and Mark (Joan) Vorpahl; great grandchild, Mark Vorpahl Jr.; brother, Eugene Low; brother-in-law, Alf Modahl; and three nephews, Dave (Carla) Low, Brad (Cheryl) Low, and Tom (Mary) Low.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Jan Low and Ann Modahl; and one niece, Jane Low.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Gunderson Health System – La Crosse for their excellent and compassionate care for Jack. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Gunderson Health Spiritual Care in La Crosse or a charity of your choice.
