Irene Marie Witt

Irene Marie Witt age 94, passed peacefully on June 3, 2020. Irene was born on July 20, 1925 to Lambert and Mary Alice (Stull) Campbell in Viroqua, WI. She married Thomas E. McDonald – they divorced and later, she married Raymond J. Witt.

Irene is survived by one daughter Sandra (Verdon) Nelson of Holmen WI. 3 Grandchildren – Paula (Bill) Shepherd, Douglas Hicke, Craig (Sheila) Hicke. 7 Great Grandchildren – Tom Cruz, Dani (Franz) Lettner, Tiffany Larson, Russell Hicke, Joshua Hicke, Andrew (Tiffany) Hicke, Cory (Jackie) Hicke. 6 Great, Great Grandchildren – Ayden, Adryana, Alex, Owen, Khloe, Mila. One sister, Minnie Vander Veen of Mountain Home, Idaho. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister.

Funeral will be held in La Crosse at Schumacher Kish Funeral and Cremation Services on Saturday, June 6, 2020. Rev. Dr. J. Taylor Haley will officiate. Friends may visit from 12:00 Noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. followed by burial at Onalaska Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to Gundersen Lutheran’s Palliative Care and Hospice teams for the tender care and support given to Irene and family during this difficult time. Memorials may be given to Gundersen Hospice or First Presbyterian Church.
