Holly Ann Leitner

Holly Ann Leitner, 64, of La Crosse, died on Monday, May 15, 2023 at her home. She was born on June 30, 1958 in Wabasha, MN to Gary and Geraldine (Amborn) Mitchell. Holly married Gary Leitner on April 13, 2013. Holly had worked as a bartender and bar manager and as a CNA for over twenty years. She had worked at Northern Engraving for six years and at Aramark until she was diagnosed.

Holly enjoyed spending time at the beach taking in the sunrises and sunsets. She was an avid gardener and loved making homecooked meals and baking. She enjoyed taking road cruises, camping, gambling at times, and was a huge music lover and dancer, and loved the Packers.

Holly was very generous, kind, caring and giving and put others’ needs in front of her own. She was passionate about spending time with family and friends. She was also passionate about having herself looking presentable before going anywhere which included her hair, makeup, lipstick, and outfit. She was blunt to a fault and enjoyed having a few drinks and beers on occasion. She was vigilant about going to family functions.

She is survived by her husband Gary, her children, Todd Mitchell, Brandon (Sarah) Helke, Julia (Emmanuwell) Helke, Steven (Jill) Leitner, and Keri Leitner, sixteen grandchildren, brothers Byron Mitchell (Teresa) and Brian Mitchell, sisters Renae Mitchell and Katrina Mitchell, mother-in-law Donna Leitner, brother-in-law Al Leitner, and many nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Katherine Stokes, her mother Geraldine Mitchell, brother Vance Mitchell, and maternal aunts and uncles, Joyce and Frank Haldorson, and Sandra and Gordon Bjorkman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 6:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Rev. Martin Yeager will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of services.
