Helen Ann Schnedecker, 91, of Hokah, MN, died on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Valley View Health Care and Rehab in Houston, MN. She was born on March 5, 1926 to Paul and Josephine (Wurzel) Miller. Helen married Paul J. Schnedecker on October 15, 1946 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Hokah. She was a life-long member and supporter of St. Peter’s Parish and St. Peter’s Altar Society.
Helen farmed alongside her husband Paul in rural Hokah. She was dedicated to the land they farmed, all living animals, and her faith in God. She will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, and her heartwarming smile.
Helen is survived by a niece Evelyn (Dave) Adams of Bonita, CA, a nephew Joe Harer of Brownsville, MN, a brother-in-law Raymond Happel of Hokah, and close family friends and caregivers Mike and Teresa Ross and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, an infant daughter, a sister Mary Ann Happel, a sister and brother-in-law Margaret (Harold) Harer, and a niece-in-law Wendy Harer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Petr’s Catholic Church, Hokah. Rev. Pratap Reddy Salibindla will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Convent Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Catholic Church and School.
