Harold L. Paulsen

Harold L. Paulsen, 82 of French Island, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 in the Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, TX. He was born May 16, 1937 in La Crosse to Harold and Marjorie (Sherwood) Paulsen and attended Central High School. Harold served in the United States Air Force and following his honorable discharge he returned to La Crosse.

On November 22, 1958 he married Marianne Beranek in La Crosse. Harold had owned and operated the local Sinclair Gas Station on the Causeway for several years. He then worked for Dahl Ford as a mechanic in the used car department for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He and Marianne enjoyed wintering in the south since 2003. He enjoyed his quality time mowing his lawn on his riding mower.

In addition to his wife Marianne, he is survived by two children; Barb (Brian) Colburn of Green Bay and Dick (fiancée, Mary Hagen) Paulsen of La Crosse; two grandchildren, Travis and Bradley Hanby of Green Bay; a great-grandson, Vanden and a great-granddaughter due in April. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 3 ^rd at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse with Father Juan Pedro Roblez Baltazar officiating. Burial will follow in French Island Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services.
