Andrew J. Hanson

Andrew Joseph Hanson age 24 of Holmen, Wis., died on Saturday, June 16, 2018. He was born in La Crosse on July 15, 1993, to Hans and Sharon (Nesseth) Hanson, Sr.

Andrew was a 2011 graduate of Holmen High School and a 2016 graduate of U-W Superior where he participated and excelled at mock trials. He carried his passion for mock trials further by coaching the Central High School team to two state tournaments in both 2017 and 2018. Andrew had worked in the corporate office at Sprint Telecom.

In addition to his parents Hans and Sharon Hanson of Holmen, Wis., he is survived by his brothers Hans (Sonja) Hanson Jr. of Stoughton, Wis., Ryan (Amanda) Hanson of Brookfield, Wis., Ryan (Sara) Rethwisch of Elm Grove, Wis., his maternal grandparents Mary Louise (Ron) Ekstrom of Chetek, Wis., thirteen aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and friends and his little buddy “Oscar” the cat. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at The Cathedral of St. Joseph The Workman. Monsignor Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery La Crosse. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 8:30am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Andrew’s memory.
