Gloria D. Freehill

Gloria D. Freehill, 81 of LaCrosse, passed away May 23, 2019, very peacefully after a short stay at Elroy Health Services. She was born December 5, 1937 to William and Jeanette (Billings) Lichtie Sr in LaCrosse. On August 24, 1957 she married Walter D. Freehill at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in LaCrosse. They would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. Gloria was a homemaker for years raising her family. After her children were raised she went to work for The Eye Clinic of LaCrosse, retiring after 19 years. She always put everyone else first. She never asked for anything. She loved crocheting, making sure she made afghans for so many. She loved to travel, and loved the winters they would be Snowbirds in Orange Beach, AL. She was a very loving, Wife, Mom and Grandma. We will all miss her dearly. We are grateful she is finally at peace, she is home, she is free. She will forever be our Angel watching over us.

In addition to her husband Walt, she is also survived by her 4 children, David (Tammy) Freehill, Onalaska, and their children Janette and Jordan. Steven Sr (Brenda) Freehill, LaCrosse, and their children Steven Jr (Cassie), Cory (Amy), Molly and Dawn. Lorie (Kevin) Michaels, Stoddard, and their children Travis, Kody and Garrett. Stacey Kulish, Gray, TN and her daughter Melissa. 15 great grandchildren, her puppy dog Cooper, many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Lichtie, Jr, sister, Charlotte Tyson, Grandson, Joshua Tronick, sister-in-law, Alice Lichtie, brother-in-law, Donald Heller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 1 ^st , 2019 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
