Gloria J. Bauch

Gloria J. Bauch, 82, of La Crosse, died on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on July 7, 1941 in La Crosse to Elmer and Josephine (Ulrich) Meyer. Gloria graduated from West Salem High School as her class valedictorian, and then from UW-La Crosse. She married Rich “Sam” Bauch on August 1, 1964 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Barre Mills. Gloria and Sam moved to Evanston, IL in 1968 where she taught 3rd grade at Franklin Elementary in Park Ridge, IL. They moved back to La Crosse in 2003. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Gloria was known as the Queen of Snacks. She loved her trail mix and made delicious Aunt Gloria’s Chocolate Bars.

Gloria is survived by a sister-in-law Pat Jones, three nephews, Jeff (Maggie) Hauser, Joe (Dianne) Hauser, and John Hauser, five great-nephews, Matthew (Anna) Isbell, Michael (Sue) Isbell, Josh Hauser, Jacob (Serena) Hauser, and Luke Hauser, one great-niece, Elizabeth Hauser, four great-great-nephews, Nicholas Isbell, Atticus Isbell, Lochlan Isbell, and Mohave Hauser, and two great-great-nieces, Madyson Isbell and Maya Hauser. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam, her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Joe Hauser, mother and father-in-law, Ronald “Hank” and Ada Bauch, and a nephew Jason Hauser.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 15th at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Pastor Richard Pamperin will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Barre Mills. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
