Glenn M Gerdes

Glenn M. Gerdes, 82, of La Crescent, MN, died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on November 27, 1934 in La Crosse to Michael and Helen (Nagle) Gerdes. Glenn married Shirley Herberg on September 7, 1963. He ran a junkyard and trailer park for many years, and then worked at Charlie Brothers Manufacturing and then Mathy Construction until his retirement. Glenn was an excellent bowler his entire life and after retirement became an avid golfer. He was one of the handiest guys around and could do anything. Together he and Shirley delivered Meals on Wheels for 25 years.

He is survived by three cousins, Jim and Angie Hofer, Verna Gerdes, and Charlotte Gerdes, two sisters-in-law, Mary (Adrian) Morchinek and Georgia (Carl) Lee, a brother-in-law David Herberg, several nieces and nephews and his special friends, Harlan Nelson, Richard (Marcia) Nissalke, John (Cindy) Scheil, Wayne (Judy)Erdman and Richard (Karen) Morchinek. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley.
