Geraldine "Gerri" A. Cina

Geraldine “Gerri” Hoffman Cina of La Crosse and formerly of Ft. Myers, Florida passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born on September 7, 1932 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Andrew and Irene Hoffman. She graduated from Holy Trinity Grade School and Aquinas High School and attended Viterbo University and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Gerri married Merrill Cina of La Crosse, Wisconsin; they later divorced. She was a realtor in La Crosse for many years, most recently with Gerrard-Hoeschler Realty. She was a member of the La Crosse Board of Realtors, the La Crosse Country Club, the League of Women Voters, and the La Crosse County Democratic Party.

Gerri was an avid Packers fan, enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay with her dinner, and was always able to give you the latest forecast from the Weather Channel. Until very recently, she continued to complete the crossword puzzle in the local newspaper on a daily basis.

She is survived by four children: Jennifer (Michael) Dobbins of La Crosse, Jeff (Barbara Sklar) Cina of Eugene, Oregon, Sarah (Michael) Cina-Fuchs of Tampa, Florida, and Susan (Edward) Sullivan of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Nick (Ginny) Dobbins, Samantha (Jake) Pamperin, Zoë Cina-Sklar, Griffin Fuchs, Jackson Fuchs, Shelby Fuchs, Meredith Sullivan, Liam Sullivan and Julia Sullivan. Gerri is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Ruxin Pamperin, Zoey Dobbins, Parker Dobbins and Maddax Pamperin, and by her sister Carol (Michael) Drake, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Irene of La Crosse, her sisters Felicia Heiser of Neenah, Wisconsin and Mickey Garvey of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, her brothers-in-law Harold Heiser and Jim Garvey, an infant daughter Mary, and her former husband, Merrill Cina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 at Roncalli Newman Center in La Crosse. A celebration of her life will follow at La Crosse Pettibone Boat Club. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials to the La Crosse Hunger Task Force or a charity of your choosing. The family is requiring the use of face masks at the service and would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation.
