Gerald "Jerry" Grenawalt

August 14, 1928 — March 27, 2024

Gerald (Jerry) Grenawalt, 95, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at his home in Holmen, Wisconsin. He was born on August 14, 1928 in Footville, Wisconsin. Jerry, known to his loved ones as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather is survived by his wife Shirley Grenawalt (Morford), son Gary (Susan), daughters Jan (late Jim) Abrashinsky and Cynthia (Larry) Rockwell, stepdaughter Diana (late Kevin) Miller, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Selma Grenawalt, his stepson Brian Kelly, grandson Cordell, step-grandson Alex, and a great-grandson Reily.

Jerry proudly served in the Navy from May 1st, 1946 to April 30th, 1948 as part of World War II. After his military service, he pursued a career as a sales manager at what is now known as First Supply. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the garden. He was a member of the American Legion and the La Crosse Home Builders Association.

Services will be held by Schumacher-Kish Funeral home of Onalaska. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00p.m. on Friday April 5th. A service will be held the following day from 2:30-4:30p.m. with a luncheon provided afterwards. Burial will be in the Mormon Coulee Cemetery of La Crosse at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Gerald E. Grenawalt.

Rest in peace, Jerry. Your dedication to your country, family, and community will always be remembered.
