Gene M. Amsrud

Gene Amsrud, 67 of Genoa, WI passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in his home. He was born on May 10, 1953 in La Crosse, WI to Milton and Mary Jane (Tevis) Amsrud. Gene graduated from Aquinas High School in 1971. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became an Engineman on the USS Engage minesweeper. He retired from the USGS – Upper Mississippi Science Center in 2014. Gene loved talking with people and appreciated visitors as his health declined.

He is survived by his wife, Patty, a sister Gail Hayes of Muncy, PA along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Sandra Hooson and Karen Larson, one brother Roy Amsrud and a daughter Stephanie Amsrud.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Mayo Cancer Center or Mayo Hospice.
