Gary L. Kuhlmann

Gary L. Kuhlmann, 84, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in La Crosse.

Gary was born in La Crosse, WI, on March 29, 1940, to Howard and Jean (Vogel) Kuhlmann. Gary took much pride in his 4 million mile (work) driving record.

He served his church as a Trustee, reader, Head Elder, and Confirmation teacher. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had many fond memories elk hunting in Colorado with his brother Dave and good buddy Jeff Bredlau.

Above all things, his faith was #1.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Jean Kuhlmann.

Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years, DJ Kuhlmann; children, Jeffery (Kathy), James (Brenda), Michael (Lisa), Matthew, Kimberly (David), and Susan (Christopher); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Connie) and Audrey (Steven).

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1215 Redwood St., Onalaska, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the service begins at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary may be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
