Gary P. Dahlstrom

Gary P. Dahlstrom, 66 of La Crosse, died on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Gundersen Health System of La Crosse. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on June 12, 1951 to Paul N. and Adeline F. (Chmielewski) Dahlstrom. He married Barbara J. Mailey in La Crosse on March 16, 1974.

Family and friends will always remember Gary for his kind heart and generosity.  He loved all of the Wisconsin sports teams especially the Packers.  He made light of every situation which is why people enjoyed being around him.  He enjoyed pulling pranks but also was the receiver of some, the most memorable would be letting him believe he won the super cash drawing.  He grew up listening to polka music and shared a few polka runs with his sister. He had many nicknames, his family knew him as "the king" while classmates will remember him as "Chince".  He had a heck of a work ethic being dedicated to Mathy Construction as Purchasing agent for 33 years.

Gary is survived by his wife, Barbara; his Children James (Malissa) Dahlstrom of Eau Claire, Wis,  Melissa (Matt) Walz of Onalaska, Wis, and Susan (Scott) Reitmeier of Oregon, Wis; Grandchildren  Hannah, Adeline, Maverick, Vivienne and Quinton Dahlstrom;  Kylie (Dennis) Williams, Keegan (finance, Brooke Speckeen) and Aiden Walz;  Julia, Jackson, and Emily Reitmeier;  Sister - Cheryl (Greg) Kloss; Brothers in law John (Pat), Carl, and David Mailey;  Niece Christina (Scott) Nelson,  Nephews Daniel (Courtney) Kloss, Brian, Brent and Brandon Oney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Adeline Dahlstrom, brother, Paul Anthony Dahlstrom,  Sister and brother in law, Dianne and Howard Oney,  Mother in Law Joan Witt,  father in law  James Mailey and his grandson Jacobson Dahlstrom.
