Fred "Fritz" Grewe

Fred “Fritz” C. Grewe, 70, of rural Winona, MN passed away at his home on Friday, March 8, 2019.

Fritz was born on December 28, 1948 in Fairmont, MN to Fred K. and Anne (Loos) Grewe. He married Therese “Betsy” Hanson on May 17, 1997, in Bloomington, MN.

Fritz worked for Seagate Technology in Bloomington for over 43 years. He and Betsy then moved to the Winona area where they have lived for the past ten years. Fritz loved being outdoors and in his younger years was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and Betsy loved spending their free time at the Grewe family cabin at Lake of the Woods in Canada for many years. Fritz was a passionate dog and cat lover and had a special place in his heart for his “furbabies,” Lance and Jack, and his cat, Charlie.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy; his brothers, Ed (Joan) Grewe of Big Fort, MN, and Richard “Dick” (Judy) Grewe of Talmoon, MN; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 111 So. Oak St., La Crescent. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hiler Cemetery in Nodine, MN.
