Frank R. Seebauer, 80 of Coon Valley, WI died on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 while en route back to Wisconsin from Texas. He was born in La Crosse, WI on April 1, 1939 to Reuben and Matilda (Wistenberg) Seebauer. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1956. On August 9, 1960, Frank married the lovely Carol Jane Liebl and they shared nearly 50 years of marriage before Carol’s death. Together they raised five daughters, shared in their joy of old-time music, and spent their retirement years traveling to San Juan, TX and throughout the Midwest to visit family and friends.
Frank began his work life driving truck and then spent his later years on the crew for the Town of Shelby. Frank is best known throughout the Coulee Region for his business Frank’s Repair on County M and Stihl dealership where he serviced countless vehicles, chain saws and mowers for so many for nearly 60 years. He also offered decades of his time and service to the St. Joseph’s Ridge Lions Club. Frank played the drums as a young adult with the Mormon Coulee 4-H band. His love of old time music is a thread in his life. He met his wife Carol, the keyboardist for Syl Liebl and the Jolly Swiss Boys at a dance, he played with several La Crosse area groups for years before joining his family’s band Daddy’s Girls. The incredible old-time community brought him joy, friendship and a happy heart. Frank was quick to tear up from the simplest encounter, strong and dedicated to hard work, and devoted to having his daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren by his side in the home he built with Carol. The family will miss his energy for cutting wood, sharp mind, and can-do spirit.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Carol, parents Matilda and Reuben, mother and father in law Ann and Sylvester Liebl, brother in laws Doug Liebl and Dick (Mary Lou) Putskey. Frank is survived by his children Cindy (John) Wuensch, Chris (Jim) Antony, Lisa (Rick) Meyer, Linda (Phil) Seebauer Hansen, and Amy (John) Magnuson; his sister Mary Lou Putskey, sister in law Judy (Denny) Miller, brother in laws Sylvester (Marce) Liebl Jr., Lenny (Jane) Liebl, Randy (Kris) Liebl, and Greg Liebl; granddaughters Sara (Brad) Jones and Rachael Wuensch, grandsons Andrew (Sonja Allen) Meyer, Tony (Emily) Meyer, Cole and Amos Magnuson, and great grandsons Wyatt and Mason Meyer; dear friend Rita Loging, and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
