Francis Hollowitch

Francis Hollowitch, 86, of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born December 4, 1930, to Caroline Hollowitch.
Francis enjoyed life and loved to laugh about everything. He was a hard worker and always had a smile on his face. As a young man, Francis went to live with his uncle and helped on the farm. He then became the operator of the ferry boat in Dresbach, Minn., where he met the love of his life, Delores “Dee” Breidel, whom he married in May of 1960. Francis then went to work for Norplex where he worked for many years until his retirement in 1986.
Over the years, Francis could be found at auctions or tending to the flowers in his yard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman back in the day with good friends, Dick Jessesski and Dick Abraham. He also enjoyed going to sporting events with Brian C.
He is survived by his sons, Butch (Kim) and Jeff; daughter, Carolyn (Richard); daughter-in-law, Barb Volden; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dee; his mother, Caroline; and a son, Pat Volden.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Private burial will take place at a later date.
