Frances A. Hauswirth, 92 of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at Springbrook Assisted Living in Onalaska. She was born in La Crosse on August 22, 1925 to Frank E. and Eliza M. (Chisholm) Brown. She married Arthur Hauswirth on December 20, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 2005.
Frances showed an abundance of love toward her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was very important to her after living through the Depression to make sure the children always had a good pair of shoes to wear. Her early passion was the art of sewing and making her five daughters outfits to wear. Dancing was a meaningful activity for Art and Frances which brought them great joy. At all the kids weddings you saw smiles beaming from the two of them as they spun around the dance floor.
Frances leaves behind her five daughters; Mary Violette (Tuscan AZ) and her former spouse Richard Violette (Columbia MD), Jeanne and Fred Steinhoff (Ashwaubenon WI), Nancy and Steve Ruud (Owing Mills MD), Kathy and Jerry Bottcher (West Salem WI), Ron and Patti Anderson (Bangor WI)
Frances is also survived by grandchildren that brought her great happiness; Scott and Kathy Violette, Todd and Jeunesse Violette, George and Cara Steinhoff, Kim Meyers (former spouse Joe), Angie Boswell (former spouse Mike), Steve and Dani Bottcher, KariLynn and Virgil Dunmeyer, Nick and Lauren Bottcher, Jeff Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Ethan and Melissa Anderson, Emilie Anderson (special friend Tyler Baker). Great grandchildren include; Katie, Brice, Connor, Parker, Anderson, James, Elizabeth, Peter, Madison, Brooklyn, Travis, Tajai, Carson and Isabella. These children were the treasures of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her spouse Art, her siblings, sister-in-law and their spouses.
The family would like to thank the staff at Springbrook Assisted Living in Onalaska and the Hospice staff at Gundersen Health System for all the wonderful care they provided.
