Fayne Marie Klawittter, 104, died peacefully at Benedictine Manor on May 12, 2021. She was born to Mary (Gittens) and August Bowman on December 5, 1916. She attended St. John’s grade school and Aquinas High School.
She married Ernie George and later William Klawitter. She is survived by a son, Michael (Barbara) George and Sheila George (Philip) Murray. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Bowman. She is survived by Phil (Amy) Murray, Jennifer Murray (Ben) Johnson and Patrick (Erin) Murray. Also, Christopher (Teresa) George, Timothy (Nori) George, and Greg (JoAnn) George. Also, she is survived by 17 great grandchildren. She has two nieces who did a lot for her, Karen (Al) Wieser and Kathy (Dennis) Bissen and a dear friend, Maureen Monk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, her sisters Florence Westover, Loraine (Adrian) Yeager, Rosemarie (Bernard) Radtke, Bernadette (Tony) Ciano, and Dorothy Blank. She was also preceded by a grandson, Peter James Murray.
She retired from Gundersen Clinic where she was a receptionist in both Orthopedics and Dermatology where she made many lasting friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Reverend Rick Roberts will officiate. Committal services will follow at Catholic Cemetery of La Crosse.
Memorials may be given to Aquinas High School or Holy Trinity Parish, where she was a faithful member and attended daily Mass and led the Rosary.
