F. John Deichelbohrer, 88 of La Crosse and formerly of Holmen, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Riverside Transitional Care.
He was born September 17, 1933, in La Crosse to Carl and Marion (Hauser) Deichelbohrer and graduated from Holmen High School. On May 12, 1956, he married Mary Lou Malphy in La Crosse and she preceded him in death on June 3, 2012.
John was proud to have worked as a farmer his entire life and earned several farmland conservations awards throughout his career.
John is survived by two daughters, Dawn Manske of Holmen and Karla (Peter) Toppen of Trempealeau; a sister, Jane Deichelbohrer of La Crosse; nine grandchildren, Monica (Tony) Chavis of Kenyon, MN, Derrick (Melissa) Manske of Red Wing, MN, Travis Manske and Eric Manske both of Holmen, Allen Luce of La Crosse, Marcus (Leah) Toppen of Mound, MN, Alexis (Kyle) Finnell of Onalaska, Tanner (Whitney)Toppen of Shakopee, MN and Abigail (fiancé, Colton Gates) Toppen of Galesville; ten great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mary Lou, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Miller.
John’s family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Transitional Care for their exceptional care and friendship to John during his stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 22 nd at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Holmen with Rev. James Weighner officiating. Private burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Holmen High School FFA.
