Evelyn Jeanette Morkved

Our beloved mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother Evelyn Jeanette (Sullivan) Morkved, 93, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, in Onalaska, WI. She was born on January 3, 1931, in Cataract, WI.

Evelyn always took great pride in her home and yard, especially loving her flowers and just being outdoors. It was a joke that her house was so clean you could literally eat off of her floors. Another passion was quilting as she made several beautiful quilts for her family members over the years. She was also very strong in her Catholic faith and always prayed for everyone. She never missed her Saturday evening mass at St. Patrick’s.

Having been widowed at the age of 46, Evelyn had to be both Mom and Dad for her daughters. She was their rock and the “absolute best Mom ever”. She will be greatly missed and her memory will live on in our hearts forever. She loved beyond measure and never asked for anything in return.

Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Schneider and Pamela (Doug) Rucker, as well as her grandchildren Christian (Emily) Schneider, Jena Schneider, Brett (Caley) Rucker, and Courtney (Jeff) Raasch. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Jonah Schneider, Alexsa and Ellianna Rucker, Jackson and Callan Raasch, as well as a brother-in-law George Endres.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marlowe “Pete” Morkved, her sisters Marjorie Endres and Marcella (Bill) Schlaeger, and her brother Levi Sullivan.

Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Tuesday April 16th at 11:00a.m. with a visitation an hour beforehand. Burial will follow the service at the Onalaska Cemetery.
