Evelyn M. Huebner

Evelyn M. Huebner, 102, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. She was born in La Crosse on June 12, 1921 to George and Lillian (Albitz) Huebner. Evelyn had worked in food service at Franciscan Skemp Hospital for many years. After retirement she was involved with RSVP, working in the nutrition program and other jobs, and working for WAFER for twelve years. She was a member of the Cathedral PCCW and helped with funeral luncheons. For several years she coordinated bake sales, rummage sales, and family fun days. Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo, baking, and travelling with life-long friends on motorcoaches. She was also an avid crocheter since the age of 20.

She is survived by a niece, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edward and sister-in-law Marguerite.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman or to St. Rose Convent.
