Eugene G. Strasser

Gene G. Strasser, 84, of Onalaska, died Friday, May 13th, 2022, at home with family at his side after a short battle with lung cancer.  There will be a private family memorial service held.

He was born May 30, 1937, in La Crosse to George and Viola (Schroeder) Strasser.  He graduated in 1955 from Aquinas High School.  He married Inara Peters on August 27, 1977, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in La Crosse.  They had one daughter, Brooke.  He retired from Norplex (later called Allied Signal) after 41 years of service.

The joys of his life were his family, especially his grandson and granddog.  Gene enjoyed softball, bowling, playing cards, hunting and watching sports.  Also, carpentry as a hobby.  He loved living in the country before moving to Onalaska in 2013.

Gene is survived by his wife, Inara.; daughter, Brooke (Mark) Trochinski and their son, Carson; brother-in-law, Arnis Peters; sister-in-law, Elga Peterson; and former brother-in-law, Paul (Judy) Schams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis (Bernard) Mlsna and Carol Schams; sister-in-law, Sharon Peters; and brother-in-law, Odell Peterson.
