Ernie Misch

Ernest “Ernie” R. Misch, age 66, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, February 5, 2021.

Ernie was born February 17, 1954, in Whitehall, WI, to Stanley and Patricia (Fema) Misch.  He attended West High School in Rockford, IL, where he enjoyed being a part of the swim team. He later moved to La Crosse where he met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Hengel, on July 14, 1973.

Ernie started as an apprentice tool and die maker at Machine Products for a number of years and continued his career at Trueline, Inc., where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his friend, Bo, and fellow co-workers. (thanks).

Ernie was a man with a lot of passions, number one being his family. He rarely missed any of the sporting events of his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing pool, cards, fishing and bean bags with the family.  He looked forward to his NASCAR races and Packer games.  Ernie was an excellent chef and had his secret recipes.  Most of all, he had a laugh and zest for life that will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Hengel); children, Angie (Brad) Bruemmer, Tanya (Josef) Banasik, and Ernie Larkin; his grandchildren, Keaton (Sadie), Kolton, Caleb, Cheyenne, Mekenzie, Wyatt, Sam, and Spencer; and great granddaughter, Olivia.  He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Erika Hengel; brother, Jim Misch; sisters, Shirley (Ron) Harker and Annette Lawrence; sisters-in-law, Pam (Brad) Benrud, Peggy (Rich) Schelbe; brothers-in-law, Mike and Matt (Hnin) Hengel; and many loving nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Patricia Misch; brother, Stevie Misch; niece, Sheila Harker; father-in-law, Richard Hengel; and sister-in-law, Julie (Hengel) Misch.

Ernie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Mayo Rochester Oncology team.
