Emaline M. Garavalia

Emaline M. Garavalia, 99, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Bethany – St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. She was born on August 3, 1922 in La Crosse to Joseph and Mae (Jambois) Malin. She married Ambrose Garavalia on October 10, 1940. Emaline was a cook for St. Charles Catholic School in Genoa for 30 years. She loved the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter Ann Holzli of Richland Center, WI, one son Thomas (Mary) Garavalia of Stoddard, WI, a daughter-in-law Jean Garavalia of La Crosse, WI, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Alice Malin of Holmen, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Jerome Garavalia, great grandson Gavin Williams and eight brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa. Fr. Daniel Sedlacek will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of service.
